I knew when I decided to create a guys team that the shoots had to be epic. I am a pro at planning styled shoots for my girls team after 10 years of doing this rep team but it’s completely different with guys.

I was tossing around ideas with one of the guy's moms and she mentioned that they had a family friend that owns a helicopter. Um, what?! Kelly got me in contact with Jim, the owner and he was totally on board with my ideas. I’ve said it before but the secret to my success is surrounding myself with people who go along with my crazy ideas! Haha!

Add in a cool old truck owned by the dad of one of my Reps, Jacob, and the session came together beautifully.

I have to be honest. The 10 minutes leading up to when I start shooting these big styled shoots I am a complete nervous wreck. I am my biggest non-believer. I can convince myself the idea is dumb and it’s going to flop. Add in the fact that I am generally a fairly introverted person and stepping into a spot of being solely in charge of every aspect of a shoot including multiple teenagers, the props, the sunlight, the location- you name it, it’s all on me. Talk about stress! But thankfully the moment I start shooting all of the doubts go away. I always say that, if I have a camera in my hand, I am the most confidant, in charge person in the room.

This shoot was no less stressful. Have you ever tried to pose a massive helicopter?!

However, it all turned out better than I had planned! Now I’m already tossing around ideas for the next styled shoot and trying to figure out how to make it almost as cool as this one. Haha! No pressure, right?!
