It's time to apply to be a part of our 2026-2027 Rep Team!

Before we get into all of that, I want to give a few details about what the Rep Team is and is not.

The 1492 Rep Team is a group of high school juniors and seniors who agree to be a part of styled shoots and branding sessions through out the school year. I came up with this idea over 8 years ago and it has grown into this amazing team that I look forward to every year. I've had a lot of questions, so here are some answers to the most asked about ones.

1- Does it cost money to be a part of the team.

Yes.

The seniors on the team are required to book their senior session with us so that obviously costs money. However, for seniors, that is the only fee. The juniors have a small rep fee that is due at the time of our first styled shoot usually in May. All of this information is sent to parents when the student applies and the parent must approve it and allow them to be on the team before we can consider them.

2- My student is super busy- what if they can't make it to the sessions?

That's totally fine! At no time are reps required to be at any of the shoots. A lot of the big styled shoots are prescheduled so they have those dates when we confirm they have been selected for the team. However, if they cannot make it, that is completely fine. I just send them information on the next shoot.

3- Can guys be on the team?

Of course! We have had guys join the team before and it's always fun.

4- Are there any rules to being on the team?

Only a couple. The biggest is that you cannot join another rep team before the end of the school year since this is obviously a conflict of interest. Other than that, I just ask that they are kind and respectful to the other reps when we are sessions. I hate drama and will allow NO bullying so if that happens I will shut it down.

5- Are all of the sessions planned months in advance?

Nope! Some of them I come up with on the fly and shoot out texts and whomever is available and interested comes. These are usually winter sessions where I get bored during slow season and see that the weather is going to be nice and decide to toss a random idea at the team. That's exactly what happened with our recent Valentine's shoot as well as our Best Friends shoot last week.

6- How many shoots can we expect through the year?

It varies ever year but we always have at least 3 styled shoots- an intro shoot, a summer shoot and then something in the autumn. Aside from that, seniors do have more shoots just because we do cap and gown shoots and college shoots.

So, what are the next steps??

First, you have to apply to be on the team! To do that, you will click this link and fill out the application. The deadline for this is midnight on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

After that, we will contact your parent or guardian to get their permission to consider you for the team. This is super important- WE MUST HAVE YOUR PARENT'S PERMISSION BEFORE WE CAN EVEN CONSIDER YOU FOR THE TEAM. Parent permission emails are due no later than 11:59 pm on March 15, 2026.

All of the students who are chosen for the 2026-2027 Rep Team will be announced on our social media on March 22, 2026. We will also send an email out to the chosen students and parents with dates of the styled shoots as well the theme for the first intro shoot.
