In the past few days, we've been asked "Were you at the bridal fair this past weekend?" The answer is, nope. While I know it is an amazing chance to meet with hundreds of brides and grooms and their families, that just isn't how I always saw our business. We are more of a 'Let's grab a cup of coffee and chat one on one' kind of business. We would much rather sit down and connect with you on a personal basis than rushing you through a line of other couples while trying to sell ourselves along with who knows how many other amazing photographers. However, I know that before you contact us, you might want to know a little bit about Studio 1492 Photography and the people behind the camera so here goes!
Nowelle, the owner is the person that runs 100% of the day to day interactions, meetings and the chief photographer on wedding days. She is the mom to an awesome 10.5 year old boy (that extra half is SUPER important to him!!) and has been married to her husband, Paul for almost 14 years and they have been together for 19 years. She is originally from the Lafayette area but like so many of you, came to Columbus with her, then fiancee, for a job at Cummins. She has a degree in the healthcare field and worked in the hospital as well as private practices for a number of years. Now she runs Studio 1492 Photography while also being a stay at home mom- basically the best of both worlds.
Shelby is our Associate Photographer which means that at the majority of weddings, she backs Nowelle up and helps make sure that everyone is where they need to be when it's time for their pictures. Honestly, she keeps all of us on schedule as well as doing an amazing job of grabbing snapshots throughout the day.I honestly couldn't run a wedding day without her! Oh, and this year she is going to be one of our brides! We can't wait to have her on the other side of the camera!!
So that's us in a nutshell! We're a little crazy, a whole lot of fun, and in charge of making sure your wedding day is perfect.

Each and every single session that we photograph is custom planed from locations to outfits, props and colors. We work very closely with our couples to custom tailor their engagement session as well as their wedding day photography so that you get exactly what you want and then some. No boring cookie cutter sessions here where you end up with the exact same engagement pictures of everyone else that you know. Ugh! How boring!
Wait- you don't know how to build a wedding timeline so that everything happens exactly when it's suppose to and everyone is in the right place at the right time? That's okay, we do and will happily build one for you and your wedding day. We'll sit down with you a few weeks before your wedding and go over all the fine details, build your custom timeline and then send it to you. All you have to do is forward it on to your family, wedding party and vendors and you're done!
But the biggest thing that sets us apart is our infamous #1492bridetribe. We have spent the last 7 years establishing a tribe of our amazing brides and have put it all together in a private Facebook group. These ladies are the ones you run to when you need a last minute vendor. They cheer each other on when hiccups happen in the planning process. They share ideas and sometimes even decor. They are the girlfriends you always wish you had and they have your back throughout the wedding planning process and even years beyond. And the best part- it is ONLY for 1492 brides! You can't buy your way in. You can't be a vendor and try to sell you stuff to the other girls. They are truly only brides that have said "Yes, I want to be a 1492 bride for life!"
