A bedroom 4 years in the making!

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't- what are you waiting for?!) you know that I enjoy decorating our home. We've been in our house just under 3 years and slowly I am getting everything exactly how we want it. There is always a project or 9 in the works, but hopefully everyone is like that!

My son's bedroom however is finally complete and I wanted to share it because I love how it turned out. But first, this one requires a bit of a back story!

Ben has been in love with super heroes since he was about 2 years old. When he was 4 we took him to Walt Disney World for Halloween and went to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. (If you've never been, message me for info- it's AMAZING!!!) Anyhow, part of the party is that kids can dress up in their costumes and trick-or-treat through the Magic Kingdom. We were leaving the park at 2:00 a.m. and I happened to snap a few last pictures of Ben in his Ironman costume with the backside of Cinderella's castle in the background. These images became my favorite from our entire trip and started an idea. What if I dressed him up as his favorite superheroes and photographed him in unique locations then turned those images into the artwork for his bedroom? Well, it took 4 years of finding the perfect locations for each superhero, but the final result is pretty epic if I do say so myself!

I then took some of our favorite quotes from and about those superheroes and made them into posters to finish off the room. To say that Ben has a pretty fantastic bedroom might be a slight understatement.

Oh, and because we always get asked- the bookshelves are from Ikea- they are suppose to be for over a tv but fit a full size bed perfectly!

This was a massive print- it's 2'x3' and in the frame it's almost as tall as he was when we did these shots!
