If you have followed me for more than a few days, you probably know that we have a place on a lake up in Michigan where we are lucky enough to spend the majority of the summer. My whole family loves being on the water, and especially water skiing! My son started learning how to ski just days after his 3rd birthday! (Moms, you understand how terrifying that was for me! He loved it though and still does!)
However, once late fall rolls around the house gets shut up until the following Spring. Winter is just insane in that area because they tend to get lake effect snow so we never go up there.
Well, just after Christmas break my husband mentioned that they were getting ready to be hit with FEET of snow! That's right- feet! So, being the responsible adults that we are... we bundled our whole crew up and drove there for a long weekend! Haha! It was one of the best weekends we have ever had as a family and will be one of my favorite memories of winter, ever! And I'm actually a winter fan! They ended up getting just over 2 feet of snow and we had the most amazing time sledding, seeing the frozen beach and even watching the giant ships come in to the harbor in St. Joseph. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves and it was so awesome to see a very different side of a town that we are use to seeing packed with tourists! But the real question of who had the best time- Charlotte, our Newfie! She was in snow heaven and basically spent the entire weekend eating snow like it was an unlimited snowcone buffet!
